A9DDR3-RVB 1066
Register validation and stimulus test platform for DDR3 memory DIMMS.

ImageThe register validation board allows memory module designers to validate operation of data registers on a DDR3 DIMM. By using a logic analyzer (not included, see support for a list of recommended devices) an engineer can run complete validation test plans on DIMM products.

  

Description

Software Controlled

Using a standard Windows PC and the A9DDR3-RVB, technicians can run automated and manual test patterns, and tune parameters. Operators can tune voltages, change the supplied clock frequency, set clock skew and modify signal setup and hold times to test the boundary conditions of a DDR3 memory module design.

Realistic Testing

The A9DDR3-RVB platform allows operators to generate real I/O traffic to and from a Unit Under Test (UUT). When coupled with a high-speed Oscilloscope and Logic Analyzer, a complete DDR compliance test can be run verifying operation and signal integrity of DIMMs. The tool can perform the following types of tests:

  • DDR3 Register Test Patterns for:
    • Test for extreme register situations (SSO, GND Bounce, etc.)
    • Test register timings (propagation delays)
    • Test Q-outputs slew rates
    • Test enabling and disabling times
    • Evaluate register outputs signal integrity
  • RDIMM Clock (CK and CK#) nets and loading enable PLL characterization.
    • Clock jitter and skew
    • Clock outputs slew rates
    • Differential Clock Output Crosspoints
    • Differential Clock Output Swings
