The Astek A8T84140-AMC brings the performance of the LSI Corporation (http://www.lsi.com/) Tarari^® T1000 Content Processor to the AdvancedMC™ form-factor. The LSI Tarari^® T1000 PCIe content processor is a family of low-cost application-specific standard products (ASSPs) that provide hardware-optimized DPI and accelerated regular expression matching (RegEx). With low latency and low CPU overhead as primary design criteria, the Tarari^® T1000 processor family provides enhanced security features with little impact on primary CPU utilization. Each T1000 device has up to 512MBytes of DDR2 memory for pattern storage and state-full inspection memory. The A8T84140-AMC provides processor off-load performance of regular expression pattern matching to enable DPI functionality in concert with ATCA Processor blades, and standard processor AdvancedMC products such as PowerPC and x86 PrAMC boards. This allows platform designers to use DPI methodologies to implement real time Content Filtering and other applications, such as Anti-virus, Anti-spam, Intrusion Detection/Prevention, Content Based Routing, QoS based IP Routing, while preserving existing investments in Operating Systems and hardware. The Tarari® T1000 family enables enhanced security features with little impact on primary CPU utilization, due to the design criteria of low latency and low CPU overhead.
