A1203-ADA-CF3 - SATA to Compact Flash

Colorado Springs, CO (September 30, 2009) – Astek Corporation announced the A1203-ADA-CF3, a SATA to Compact Flash adapter with write-protection. This version is a drop-in replacement for the older A1203-ADA-CF2 version which has been discontinued. This update to the product includes full support for UDMA modes and media.  It enables the use of low-cost solid-state media for booting and running Windows and Linux workstations. With the write protection enabled, public kiosks and appliance type systems can be secured against unauthorized tampering by users.

According to Ted Vaida, Business Unit Manager of Embedded Storage at Astek, "adding a solid state storage device to an embedded computer has never been easier, or less expensive". With Serial ATA (SATA) support, the A1203-ADA-CF3 adapter allows system builders to use a CompactFlash card anywhere a SATA disk can be used. "You can also protect your data from modification' he continued, "which can greatly simplify the creation of embedded systems that need to be controlled like public Kiosk terminals".

For more information see the product information page at http://www.astekcorp.com/index.php/Products/A1203-ADA-CF3.html

The A1203-ADA-CF3 board does not require drivers for most major operating systems including Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, RedHat Enterprise Linux, and SuSE Linux.
